Every Child Deserves
A Pathway to Reading Success
As both a mom and the CEO of Strands of Accelerated Reading (SOAR), I know how deeply parents want to see their children thrive in school. When reading is a struggle, it doesn’t just affect homework—it impacts confidence, friendships, and a child’s entire outlook on learning. Parents often share with me the heartbreak of watching their child try so hard, yet still fall behind.
At SOAR, we exist to give families hope—and results.
Structured, Science-Backed Instruction
Every lesson at SOAR is grounded in the Science of Reading and delivered through explicit, systematic, one-on-one instruction. We meet students where they are, whether they need support with foundational skills like phonics, or with higher-level comprehension and fluency. The instruction is structured and evidence-based, but also individualized—because no two children are alike.
Powered by IMSE—Right Here in Western New York
Our center at 6224 Transit Road in Depew is the only center in Western New York officially “Powered by IMSE” (Institute of Multi-Sensory Education). This means that every interventionist on our team is trained in IMSE’s Orton-Gillingham approach—a gold standard in literacy intervention. We also have three of only 80 Level 4 Master Instructors in the entire country on staff, including myself.
Families here in Western New York don’t need to look far for world-class literacy support. It’s available right in your backyard.
A Partner for Parents
We know many parents face long waits for evaluations or feel overwhelmed trying to figure out what comes next. While SOAR does not provide diagnoses, we do provide detailed literacy assessments and individualized intervention that can start immediately. For families, this means your child doesn’t have to lose another year of growth while waiting.
Supporting All Students—including Dyslexia
Our instruction benefits all students, but it is especially impactful for those with learning differences such as dyslexia. As a certified dyslexia interventionist, I’ve seen firsthand how structured, multisensory lessons can unlock reading for students who once believed they couldn’t do it. Watching a child go from tears of frustration to pride in their own progress is the reason we do this work.
Our Commitment to Families
Western New York is my home, and SOAR is proud to be headquartered here. Our mission is simple: to ensure every child in our community has the chance to become a confident, capable reader. We are here for parents who need answers, for children who need hope, and for families who deserve to see their children soar.
✨ If your child is struggling with reading—or if you simply want to give them a stronger foundation—reach out today. Let’s schedule an assessment and build a plan together.
